MR. DAEHYUN KIM 

​

Mr. Daehyun Kim is currently the Director General at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Republic of Korea. He served as the Deputy General of the External Relations Bureau in the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG). He also served as the Director of Planning Division for the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Bid Committee between 2009-2011.

While at POCOG, Mr. Kim's main responsibilities included settlement work of overall events of Cultural Olympiad: Cultural events, Opening and Closing Ceremony, Olympic Torch Relay, distribution of press release and responding to the media, external cooperation work with local administration, managing international trends of IOC/IPC, transfer of sustainability related knowledge and creation of the Olympic legacy. During his tenure at the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism since 1995, he served in various roles such as the Deputy Director and Director General in the Youth Policy Division, Tourism Policy Division, Broadcast and Advertisement Promotion Division, International Sports Division, Sports Policy Division, to name a few.

Mr. Kim was awarded with the Order of Merit Award given by the President of Republic of Korea for credit in winning the bid of the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. He holds a Bachelor of Art in Public Administration from Yonsei University and received his Master of Art's degree in Recreation, Parks and Leisure Service Administration from Central Michigan University.
