About KAASM

The KAASM was founded in June 2016 to help serve the various needs of Korean scholars in the field of sport management. The organization is incorporated as a nonprofit organization and is dedicated to expanding knowledge and developing a global network among Korean scholars. The KAASM strives to (1) facilitate scholarly exchanges and collaborations among members, (2) provide resources for members’ scholarly development (e.g., research/travel grants and mentoring programs), (3) support and recognize members’ excellent achievements, and (4) foster social exchanges among members of all backgrounds.

DAE HEE KWAK

President

Dr. Kwak is an Associate Professor in the Sport Management Program and a director of the Center for Sport Marketing Research (CSMAR) at the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology. His research focuses on sport consumer behavior and psychology, delving into the intricate ways sport consumers think, feel, and make decisions within various sport-related contexts.

YONG JAE KO

Executive Secretary General

Dr. Ko is a Professor of Sport Management Program at the University of Florida. His research interests include sport marketing and consumer behavior.

HYUN-WOO LEE

Vice President

Dr. Lee is an Associate Professor in the Sport Management Division at Texas A&M University. His research interests focus primarily on Human Emotion, Sport Experience, and Fan Behavior.

MIN JUNG KIM

Director of Programming

Dr. Kim is an Assistant Professor of Sport Management program in the Department of Health and Sport Studies at McPherson College. Her research focuses on the areas of sport marketing, sport consumer psychology, and sport media behavior.

SEUNGMIN KANG

Director of Service

Dr. Kang is an Assistant Professor of Sport Management at North Dakota State University whose research interests include Sport for Development and Peace (SDP), Shared Leadership in SDP, Nonprofit Partnerships, and Leadership and Human Resource Development (LHRD).

DOO JAE PARK

Director of Communications

Dr. Park is a lecturer in Sport Management program at the School of Kinesiology at the University of Michigan whose research interests include race and identity politics in sport.

WONJU LEE

Treasurer

Dr. Lee is an Assistant Professor of sport management in the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management at Clemson University. He is interested in managing sport programs and organizations for social impact.

YOUNGHO PARK

Treasurer

Dr. Park is an Assistant Professor of Sport Administration in the Department of Kinesiology & Sport Sciences at the University of Miami. His research focuses on Sport Consumer Behavior and Marketing Analytics.

JUNSEOK KIM

Student Representative

Junseok Kim is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management at Texas A&M University, whose research interests include sport marketing and consumer behavior.
